Its mostly referred to as LASIK, but laser is the more proper term because the surgery mostly involves a laser. LASIK is a procedure where a laser reshapes your cornea to correct your vision. If you plan on getting LASIK statistics say; 90% of patients who get the surgery have vision of 20/20 or 20/40.

Planning on getting LASIK?
Well if you are then here are some requirements:
- 18 years old and older
- Good health
- A year of previous prescription
- No eye disease
- Sufficient corneal thickness
- Eligible for recovery days
- Stop wearing hard contacts for 4 weeks before surgery
- Stop wearing rigid lenses for 3 weeks before surgery
- Stop wearing soft contacts for 2 weeks before surgery
- Don't use creams, lotions, makeup, and perfumes the day before surgery
- Arrange a ride for after

Surgery done!
- To help protect the healing cornea from an accidental rub, asked to wear a transparent eye shield
- Your eye may itch or burn, it may feel like there’s something in it, and you may experience mild discomfort, pain, blurry vision, light sensitivity, halos, glares or blotches of pink or red in the eye
- These symptoms should subside considerably within the first few days after surgery
- See your doctor in the next 24 - 48 hours. They will remove the eye shield, and examine your eye and test your vision. Do this regularly fro the next 6 months
- It may take three to six months before your vision stabilizes and the side effects disappear
